Under the patronage of the European Commission and media partnerships with Il Sole 24 Ore and Corriere Economia,
Le Fonti honoured Italian excellence at an awards ceremony held on Friday 24 March at Palazzo Mezzanotte in Milan, the seat of the Italian Stock Exchange. The scope of the awards is to identify and select excellence in the entrepreneurial, financial, industrial, insurance and legal sectors. Leading companies and professionals were chosen for the awards based on a survey conducted at the research institute of the Editrice Le Fonti publishing house. The selection was made with the contribution of a community numbering more than 40,000 qualified contacts in the business world and the various professions, which assessed results in business, industry leadership, strategic development, internationalisation, quality of service, sustainability, innovation and training.

Dainese was named “Excellence of the Year / Innovation & Leadership” in the hi-tech protective wear category
"for embodying Italian excellence since 1972 in the protective sports equipment and hi-tech protective suit sector, offering diverse practical applications. More specifically, for being a pioneering enterprise that has successfully built an entrepreneurial heritage by focusing on continuous technological innovation through the Dainese D-Tec Centre for Research & Development, aimed at identifying innovation in fields other than sports, with the goal of improving the quality of the products, as demonstrated in the new BioSuit and SkinSuit, hi-tech products created together with ESA, MIT and NASA”.

Cristiano Silei, CEO of the Dainese Group, was presented with the "CEO of the Year” award for Innovation,
“for the leadership skills he demonstrated during his years-long experience within the main Italian industrial groups, for achieving prestigious results, promoting innovation and team spirit.”

“These awards are much appreciated, especially as this year marks the 45th anniversary of Dainese and the 70th anniversary of AGV,” said Cristiano Silei, CEO of the Dainese Group. “115 years of passion for technological research and innovation.
The Dainese Group has always pursued its mission of advocating and delivering safety in dynamic sports. Inspired by the potential of the human being, we study the protection needs of the human body in the most extreme conditions: riding a motorbike on a track at 350 km/h, downhill skiing at 150 km/h, sailing a regatta at 50 knots, reaching zero gravity in Space.  The knowledge acquired through this ongoing research forms the basis for a continuous process of innovation focused on the safety of those, like us, who are passionate about dynamic sports,” he added. “This award is dedicated to Lino Dainese, the man who built the foundations of this philosophy, and to all the employees of the Group who work alongside me every day, embracing new challenges to continue raising the bar of innovation.”
